Mrs. Smith's Terrific Turtles

We will be adding five more words to our word wall this week.  We will have a spelling test on Friday.  Please help your child study their spelling words this week.

The kids are continuing to be excited about going to the library every Thursday.  They really enjoy checking out their books and listening to Mrs. Elder read a story to them.  Please help them remember to bring their books every Thursday so they can check out new books.

Our Valentine’s Party will be on February 14th at 11:30.  A note will be sent home soon that will have details about the party.

The 100th day of school is January 30th.  I have sent a note home about a guessing game that we will be playing on that day.  Please help your child with this activity and send it back by Monday.

As you notice your child is bringing home a book to read every night.  Please continue to read with your child every night.  This is such a big help to them as they continue to grow in their reading ability as well as their love for reading.  Thanks so much for your help and support.

In Reading we will be reading penguin books and winter books.  We will be working on nouns and verbs.  In Writing we will be writing non fiction stories.  In Math we will be working on penguin problem solving.  In Science we will continue our study of penguins.
